off we go! And a peom...

... because I like mispelling things late at night, apparently.

Redemption

Going where my heart did lead,
Took me to a frightful deed,
Can I ever shake the shame?
Darkened voices whisper names.

But! the truth is,
Through the Blood,
All is washed,
In crimson flood.

Nothing from the past remains,
Naught of sin can stay a stain.
Bless'd forgiveness; overwhelms,
Overtakes the devil's realms.

I don't know when I wrote this piece, but I found it tonight while, ahem, packing for IVLI (Intervarsity Leadership Institute). Pray for me. I'm going there for a month*, from July 2nd to the 29th, and I have to leave at 5:30...

Good life choices... Because I'm still like, awake and stuff (as in 'packing') at this hour. [Oh! I just looked at the time, and technically I'm leaving today!!!! YAY!!!!]

*Yes, for all you technically minded people, it's not quite a month. But it would be, if it was in February. Basically.

ETA (edited to add, for the uninformed): So because of this unforeseen completely planned trip I will sadly not be posting my song until probably August. Or anything else. But that at least is in keeping with *said in a dramatic french accent* "the schedule!"

A drawing...

I've been thinking about the people who God puts in my life who are like lighthouses-they've guided me through the storms of life, and they've been there when it feels like it's all falling apart. Thank you. And thank you especially to my parents.

A song...

I wrote this song a few weeks ago, I think. It doesn't have a tune yet. (Edit: Or a title... Suggestions?) I'm waiting for a nice moment with me alone at a piano for that.

Chorus:
God, I want to love You more,
Jesus, I want to love You more,
Father, I want to love You more,
And more and more,
For all my days,
In all my ways,
Please may You stay
   the center of my life.

Verse 1:
I know I'm gonna go through hard times,
I know I'm gonna wanna quit.
I know that in the valley
I will fall and dilly-dally,
But pick me up and bring me to You

Chorus

Verse 2:
I know that on the mountaintop,
I will think I know what's up,
So teach me true humility.
In the good times and the bad,
Let me look to you my Dad,
And may I always love You

Chorus

Peom I wrote for Creative Writing Class

//pantoum on cycles of love and friendship//

~~~~~~~~~~
I see his face,
It draws me in,
We talk a while,
Friendship begins.
It draws me in,
I start to feel,
Friendship begins,
Then love appears.
I start to feel,
I'm at a loss,
Then love appears,
I start to run.
I'm at a loss,
I see his face,
I start to run,
We talk a while.
~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm running right now.

I Got It!

I went in today for a job interview at Dunkin' Donuts, and I got the job! I was both surprised and not, because I felt like the interview went decently well and that I came off well.

I start tomorrow at 10 in the morning. :)

It's Over!!!

Finishing finals,
Is such a relief,
And finishing well,
Just cannot be beat.

just another jar of thyme preserves...

Bugs fly silently as words fail. I stare through dark sunglasses, trying to find the soul hidden in darkness. We're so similar, yet not at all.  To be or not to be. We get up; walk down a wooded path; blow dandelions like carefree children. And yet, in a way, it feels like a farce. We're not children, and we'll never return to the innocence of our youth. Our antics belie our reality. Time feels frozen, but I know this moment will end. The downy seeds that sprung from canary yellow will be swept away by the winds of time, of life, of fate.
